St. Austell Office Move

In December 2009 our St. Austell Office relocated to larger premises opposite St. Austell Parish Church. The improved and spacious premises offer better facilities to the nine law costs draftsmen (three of whom are Fellows & Costs Lawyers) together with the five support staff. Importantly there is also room for expansion.

Exeter Office Move

In November 2009 our Exeter Office relocated to The Senate in Southernhay. The offices are modern and spacious offering the five staff (one Associate, one Fellow and one Fellow/Costs Lawyer) a greater environment and importantly room for expansion.

Southernhay is in close proximity to Exeter County Court and in the hub of the legal quarter of Exeter. We are therefore well placed to service the needs of Solicitor firms in the area.

Costs Lawyers

The alcd was granted Authorised Body Status for the purposes of sections 27 & 28 of the Courts & Legal Services Act 1990 by the Association of Law Costs Draftsmen Order 2006. This came in to force on 1st January 2007.

The Association may grant rights of audience and rights to conduct costs litigation to members with Fellowship status who having completed additional training earn the title Costs Lawyer.

Johnson & Johnson has 4 Costs Lawyers; Tony Johnson (Partner), Paul Kendall, Matthew Newton and Andrew Bennetts all of whom have guaranteed rights of audience and are entitled to appear as Advocates on your behalf.

In addition a Fellow of the Association may be instructed as an expert by a litigant in person to advise on aspects of costs law and may recover any reasonable fees incurred.

As part of our service we conduct Part 8 Costs Litigation from inception to and including the final Detailed Assessment Hearing. We act for both paying and receiving parties.
